Google has been rumored for some time now to be working on a competitor to Apple’s iPhone. Recent news suggests that ‘Android’, as they are calling it internally, is a mobile phone platform, an Operating System and collection of technologies that mobile phone vendors can license to use on their hardware.
The first phones to be launched using this new OS will appear in 2008.
