From here, you can enable ssh and sftp servers on MacOS from System Preferences/Sharing, and enabling the ‘Remote Login’ option.
To enable an ftpd server, run:
sudo -s launchctl load -w /System/Library/LaunchDaemons/ftp.plist

Hi Kevin -noticed your posting when trying to use ftp / via ethernet to xfer photos from Nikon to MAC; no luck so far; set sharing per your advice to remote login; which gave me an address of “ssh robertedler@10.0.1.8″ the Nik failed to connect?
On the Nikon side I selected SFTP, gave the address above, PASV disabled, Port 22, Proxy Server No; destination file I simply typed Pictures/RAW; the error was listed as FTP? Any ideas? Thanks much… Bob
