G4 based Mac Minis going cheap at Costco
Silicon Valley Sleuth reports that Costco has picked up a boat-load of Mac Minis and is selling them for $699, plus including other goodies such as mouse and keyboard that weren’t originally included in the Mac Mini package.
Since Apple is now including the Intel Core Solo and Duo chips in it’s latest Minis, seems like they are looking to offload the G4 based inventory.
JavaOne is approaching – 10 must see sessions
2006 JavaOne is rapidly approaching – since EJB3.0 has been bubbling away on the burner for the last couple of years, will we see the JSR220 spec finalised in time for this year’s JavaOne?

McNealy steps down as Sun CEO
Scott McNealy has stepped down as CEO of Sun Microsystems, after 22 years. He will be replaced by President, Jonathan Schwartz.
Sun’s stock has long been bumping along at the $3 – 4 dollar level for the last few years, and I hope Schwartz has what it takes to bring the company back to profitability. For a company that has done so much for software development in terms of creating Java and being a steward for it’s evolution, it’s about time they starting reaping the rewards of their efforts.
