Due to friction between contributing members of the W3C’s Working Group for the orchestration of Web Services, Microsoft have withdrawn their involvement with the group.

This could result in the eventual divergence of orchestration standards (or at least proposals at this stage), between IBM and BEA who are still working with the W3C, and Microsoft who may suggest their own mechanism and protocol for WS orchestration.

RedHat have announced they will release downloadable ISOs of RedHat 9.0 to subscribers of the RedHat Network, on 3/31/03.

From an email notification: “Beginning March 31st, paid subscribers to Red Hat Network will have
access to Red Hat Linux 9 ISOs – a full week before retail store and
Red Hat FTP availability.”

Sun are offering their J2EE1.4 test compatibility suite to JBoss for the first time.

Up until this point, JBoss have repeatedly requested to obtain the test suite to verify that JBoss is J2EE compliant, but Sun has been refusing to give it to them. Why? Maybe they don’t want to admit that a fully compliant J2EE server platform can be obtained for free, especially as Sun are competing in the same marketplace with their SunONE server.
