I keep getting emails from Microsoft encouraging me to host a Windows 7 launch party at home with my friends. I don’t think so. Sorry Bill. Sorry Steve. That would be the equivalent of having my friends round to remove each others eyeballs with a blunt stick.
Microsoft’s Pink aiming to be iPhone killer?
Microsoft have lagged behind in the mobile phone OS market, Windows Mobile in all it’s current and prior incarnations is just a shoddy mess in terms of usability for a small form factor device. ‘Pink’ looks like an evolution from Danger’s Sidekick (who they bought out recently), which most likely they’ll also completely hose when they stuff the next version of Windows Mobile 7 into it. Time will tell.

COBOL – still alive and kicking
This is an interesting article on the longevity of COBOL – apparently there’s still 200 billion lines of COBOL code still running in live systems today. That’s incredible.
