Zend, the company behind the major and most commonly used implementation of PHP, have released a PHP engine for Oracle, that includes support for Oracle databases.
This could be a major stepping stone for PHP adoption and usage with the major database vendors on enterprise development projects. Up until now PHP have been mainly associated and used with open source databases such as MySQL.
