I actually stumbled across this site because he had a couple of links to my site back in December, and also some of my Java apps that are listed at www.Jars.com.
This is a curious concept – this site, geourl.org maps physical geographic locations of website owners (or businesses, services etc) based on lat and long meta tags added to a webpage.
An interesting benefit of this is you can search and browse other websites that are in the same location as another site, within a given radius. There are also links to Acme Mapper so you can see an aerial view of the website’s location.
If every site was indexed with physical location information like this then you would be able to search for businesses, services, people for any given location, as if every website were listed in a global Yellow Pages… very interesting project.
